T-Breds shutout Rams 5-0; move to 5-1 in district play
It felt strange. Everyone standing at attention during the playing of the national anthem facing a flag pole with no flag. Seems a mechanism failure had prevented the hoisting of the Stars and Stripes. As a consolation everyone at Alex Fernandez Field for the district game between the visiting Coral Park Rams and the home standing Hialeah T-Breds witnessed a military fly by. A low flying Coast Guard jet buzzed directly over the park right past where Old Glory should have been as the Star Spangled Banner was rendered. Getting earthbound and down to business afterwards, the T-Breds withstood an early Ram threat, took control of the game and came out with a 5-0 victory. Junior Randy Lopez went six innings allowing three hits, only one after the first inning and struck out four. The right hander raised his record to 2-3. Hialeah improved its overall mark to 7-4 and 5-1 in district with the win.

T-Breds defeat Golden Hawks in District Affair
A run here, a run there in this afternoon game. Although the visiting T-Breds used their aluminum to produce 11 hits against Miami Springs, runs were not as plentiful to come by at Shelly Dunkel Field on the Golden Hawk campus. Still, Hialeah did give junior Robert Rodriguez (2-1) more help than he would need in this district game. Rodriguez turned in his best performance to date with a complete game three hit outing as the T-Breds defeated the Golden Hawks 4-1.

Coral Reef rout T-Breds in non-district matchup
This is starting to get uncomfortably familiar. T-Breds take early lead only to lose it. T-Breds retake the lead late in the game but can't hold on. So it was in the non district meeting with the Coral Reef Barracudas at Alex Fernandez Field. Hialeah dropped a 7-3 decision after leading 2-0 early on and then 3-2 in the sixth. The Barracudas batted around sending nine to the plate and scoring five runs in the sixth, an inning which saw two T-Bred errors, to clinch the victory. Junior right hander Randy Lopez was charged with the loss. His record now stands at 2-2 for the year. The T-Breds fall to 5-4.
